Avery is the owner and operator of A+ Animal Care. She has been devoted to learning about animals (particularly dogs) since she was little, reading everything she could get her hands on. First she volunteered at shelters, then in high school she started pet-sitting and learning how to train service dogs. In college she fostered dogs for various rescue groups while she continued to work as a dog-walker. By the time she was in graduate school she had become the local shelter's default medical foster; she was entrusted with medicating and completing physical therapy with post-surgery clients who needed to recover outside the shelter environment. Two years ago, in response to the overwhelming demand and joy of caring for clients, Avery decided to go full-time.

Theo, is an active 12-year-old dachshund mix who delights in having other dogs to chase or cuddle with. Theo has otherwise been a fantastic companion and playmate for countless clients over the past eleven years - accompanying me for walks, hikes, and sleepovers. Due to a past injury he will not take kindly to being manhandled or jumped on, so he generally doesn't tolerate rambunctious puppies.

A+ Animal Care LLC was formed in 2024 after Avery received overwhelmingly positive feedback from friends and acquaintances that entrusted their pet's care to her. Designed to meet a widespread need: A+AC is personalized and flexible to provide for or facilitate all of a companion animal's needs.

Yes, we offer overnight boarding for dogs. At this time we do not board cats

Cash, check, or Venmo app payments are all accepted. Please note Venmo may incur an additional 2% charge. To reserve a boarding spot half of the payment is due at time of booking, the other half before the last day of service. For all other services payment is expected in full on day of service.
Please let me know as soon as you can if your plans change and I will accommodate as best I can. In the event that pickup would be more than 30 minutes late, there is a potential for an extra night's charge and your pet must be picked up first things the following morning. Each situation is different, and I'm happy to be as flexible as possible.
Please notify me directly with any changes to or cancellations of appointments. Changes will be accommodated to the best of my ability.
Cancellations made more than 3 days in advance of the booking will be fully refunded. Last minute cancellations may receive a partial refund or credit, subject to my discretion.
I will call you or you will call me and we'll come up with a plan together.
All boarded dogs must be spayed or neutered. If your dog is intact, please see the Drop-In Visit Menu for daytime help.
Yes! I'm happy to be able to help dogs with many types of different needs, from blindness to tripods pets! Please reach out with your pet's special requests.
Nope! All dogs sizes are welcome.
Yes, for drop-ins! However overnight house-sitting is not a service provided at this time.
When boarding in my home the dogs have unrestricted access to the backyard via the dog door. Accommodations are made for dogs that can't or won't use the dog door but please let me know beforehand if this is a concern.
For walking it would mean I avoid other dogs when we're out.
For boarding I always do a meet and greet to introduce my dog and yours to make sure they get along before booking a stay. In the unlikely event that there is an issue between the dogs I will separate them and notify you. I do my best to interview all dogs that stay with me to make sure they have a temperament suited to shared living.
Nope! Boarders are generally allowed to freely roam the house and backyard. If your dog is crate-trained and you'd like to provide a crate, I can set it up so they have the option to use it.
No cats in the house. There are, however, neighborhood cats, but we do our best to avoid them.
Absolutely! I do my best to take good pictures and videos to share with you. Always feel free to ask for more.
